Protests:

Est. over 20,000 protestors, because of several controversies around Bush's election, including various issue-based protests (environment, feminism, etc) and elections controversy including the decision by the Supreme Court to award presidency to Bush and rumors of voter disenfranchisement in Florida.

Alleged Suppression of Protestors by DC police:

DC police set up security precautions; protestors fail to get courts to overturn some security precautions; allegations of suppression of free speech & right to assemble; apparent minimum of arrests. Justification: first inauguration since 9-11.
